Guest Shot: Dusk Over Black Rock City
29SEP2009: Black Rock City, NV unknown camera
Guest shot from the otters at fotografka.com who managed to brave the dust and heat for this shot. Fantastic composition is, of course, a mark of the pros.

Guest shot from our friends over at saimasays.com, who not only know everything, but also have a great eye for an image. Yes, along with the folks at the Mirror Project and Harrumph, they inspired me to even start blogging all those many moons ago. So here's to them and here's to the Statue of Liberty! Eid Mubarak!

Took this shot from the waiting room at my cousin's office at PS260, on Madison Ave. It had just rained really hard, and in the aftermath the clouds started doing amazing things. As the sun went down, the clouds were lit up and the buildings darkened to great effect. Beautiful...

It was an unseasonable day in San Francisco, which I spent with Stas and LP in Dolores Park with a billion other Mission denizens. As the sun went down behind Noe Valley, I caught sight of the wispy clouds tinged red. Unfortunately all I had was my phone but the picture was still pretty good.

Headed home from the new job, I spied the moon coming up over the hills. It was big and full and waxy but not yellow in the way that I like sometimes. The camera and the human eye both perceive the low hanging full moon so differently. I wish I could take the image from my head and post that instead.

Standing outside Capt Excitement's house as we were on our way to the supermarket with Sprout, I spied the sky erupting in reds and oranges and wished I had a ladder so I could get a better shot.

Took a walk with Dr Germ after her birthday dinner and was treated to a lovely and infrequent sight, sunset in San Francisco. What a beauty!

Yes, the main thing about forest fires ravaging the west is the lovely colors at sunset. Happy?

This is the sort of thing that makes you wish you were involved in the early days of space flight.

Another bit of video, reminds me of Inverted Funnel from summer of last year. Amazing, yet portentous.

A nice Thai dinner with my folks, and a walk in the park lead to this lovely shot. May evenings in Arizona almost make it worth the 115 degree weather.
