I went to visit the Sudan, which I hadn't been to since the before I started working at Faceless Corporation 2 years ago. More specifically I got to visit my father's village, which I hadn't been to in almost 16 years - not since the Nile had risen and wiped most of the original dwellings off the ground. It was a quick trip - just a day - but I got to see all the family I had there, and also got to take a walk down by the Nile. The river was low and I was able to step out onto a sand bar and take this photo of my cousin. The ground under my feet was fairly solid, but the edges of the sand bar where jelly-like. The ground rippled beneath my feet and if you stood there for any length of time you'd sink in up to your neck.

The sun was sinking in the west across the river, and there was a lovely breeze. It was beautiful and idyllic.
