Visiting my old college chum in San Jose this last weekend, we took a walk to get some coffee, and were returning through SJSU's campus when we spotted the contrail above us and noticed that it seemed to be coming out of the top of the building in front of us. Like a shaft of light, or a signal to deep space. In the silence of the holiday time campus it seemed quite likely that it was.

I found this while clearing out my old computer in a folder imaginitively marked "Sky shots". Casting my mind back I think it was from one of my transatlantic flights. I woke up at the time that falls between the reality of where you were and the impending reality of where you will be. The sky was oddly colored and I saw this odd arc of pale blue. Beautiful.

As the street vendors scrambled to cover their wares during a sun shower at the Portobello Market, I scrambled for my camera and ducked into a side street to capture this nice rainbow shot.
