Doesn't this look like the opening scene of a horror movie? :) I captured this image about two minutes before it started to pour. And yes, this is the same neighborhood church featured in my post, Is this a good omen?.

God Moving Over the Waters

I was walking out of the Jewish ghetto, when it started to rain lightly. I walked on towards my hotel, with only one day in Venice, I wasn't going to let the weather slow me down. As I came to the train station, this is what I saw. It's the sort of sight one associates with the voice of God coming down from heaven to impart wisdom to the believers. I'm a sucker for that sort of thing.

Venice Smiles

It had rained briefly as I was walking through Venice on my way to the Jewish Ghetto. As I came out in front of the train station I saw the rainbow. The experience wrapped around me like an old friend's arm and I couldn't help but smile back through my fatigue.

Inverted Funnel

Expect a bunch of Italian images to go up in the coming days. This one was taken the day after the wedding from the rooftop garden of the groom's parents house. It had been threatening to rain during the day and after a quick shower, all that was left was that strange inverted double funnel in the clouds. The coloring was really amazing as well. Being in Italy showed me why the sky in a Tintoretto looks the way it does, not because he was embellishing but because the sky actually looks like that in Tuscany.

Taken on the road on Monday the fourth. I wish I could remember exactly where I was ... reminds me of whipped butter on cool toast. Cool blue toast.
