During my friend Larry's visit we drove up to Sonoma for the day and made it back just in time to watch the sun setting over the Marin headlands. It was beautiful, but so windy and cold that it made very clear what it must have been like to leave the port of San Francisco on the way to the Pacific theatre of war during WWII. The wind was fair lifting me off the ground, making my windbreaker flap like a flag.
