Fireworks in the Morning

I was on the train this morning, heading to work in a somewhat morose mood. As I stared out the window of the moving train I noticed something peculiar. I could see sunlight passing between the train cars as we rolled along. The sun must have been exactly perpendicular to the path of the train, and so the light skimmed along the ground, mirroring the velocity of the train. As the train sped along, the light flowed over the brush that lines the ground beside the train tracks, and as it did so the leaves and branches were gilded for the briefest of moments. The effect was like tiny green and yellow fireworks by the side of the train celebrating our passing through. I smiled in spite of myself.

Neat! (gag)

So a public forum such as this seems like the appropriate place to tell you that Ginger and I really enjoyed spending time with you and your stylish accompanyist and those tasty crepes back in March.

Also: whenever we have a party now, Ginger and Julie and myself invariably utter things to the effect of "you know what this party is missing? Mo."

Thanks for the vote of confidence Iain ... would you like to tell us all about Outstanding Club?

Outstanding Club - a little side project I'm working on with some other folks. I'll give you a call sometime and discuss the details, but the Outstanding Foundation is a non-profit we're forming that is sort of like... if TED met Habitat for Humanity.

I'll also share that one of the inspirations for the concept is what they are doing at 826 Valencia in the Mission. Which, if you have not checked out, you very much need to, sir - it would be right up your alley, were you to have an alley.
