Tales of the Bay
Impressions of San Francisco:
- What is apparently a flower wholesaler. It's rather odd to think about the business of flowers, and moreso to watch folks working in the early hours of the morning to prepare flowers in the same way that they would to make doughnuts.
- Hearing an odd sound as I was walking down the platform towards the front of the train. It sounded like a saxophone and I as I looked around I saw a cab driver, sitting in his car, practicing as he waited in the cab line.
- Looking out the window on the train, seeing two homeless guys staring at something bright white on the muddy ground under an overpass. They looked like kids who had discovered an earthworm on the sidewalk after a rainstorm.

I'm looking forward to the impressions I'll have of the area as a semi-regular visitor there, but not really a "resident". I'll likely spend three or four weeks a year there, in one week spurts. The latest I'm coming back there will be end of January, but I may be back as early as Thanksgiving-ish.
Of course, the inconvenient part is that I will be travelling everywhere by way of stagecoach.

Will they give you leather chaps? Because you can get those around here, really cheap.

I am quite sure if there are leather chaps to be had, they will have the company logo on them, and will be part of some "team building exercise".

Will you calmly inform them that you play for the "other team"?
