Gross incompetence, with emphasis on the gross ...
Sometimes I am offended by the incompetence of the people around us in this world. I mean I know that half the people are below average, just on the basis of statistics, but whenever it is proved to me I am still surprised. Maybe that makes me stupid too, then.
My brother pointed out to me the other day that my paycheck had somehow been directly deposited into his account. So I checked my bank account and sure enough I hadn't been paid at the end of last month. With today being payday for the middle of the month I was feeling ... well let's just say I was feeling suspicious about the prospect of getting my cash. Sure enough, no direct deposit, and no clue of what was going on. So I called human resources, as if that would help. Sure enough they claim that they know no such thing. After I pressed them a bit they said they had deposited the money into a different account that I had opened and told them to start depositing to. Then they said it was my bank's fault. So I went to the bank and they looked up the account number, which turned out to belong to my brother. So basically the long and short of it is that when my brother started working for the university and tried to set up his direct deposit, some genius thought to themselves "There can only be one Elhassan working at this university, he must want to chance all his information. I wonder why he changed his signature too?". Of course there is the whole question of my first name and ID number and the fact that I had not signed anything etc etc, but who can be bothered to read, right? I will get my money ... I just don't think it'll be before the end of the week at the earliest. Damnity damn damn.
So what else? I guess I'm still not used to blogging on this system. I need to learn more about CSS I suppose but I am too lazy to even think about that. Heck I'm neglecting actual schoolwork these days, let alone this sort of frivolous stuff.
